Camille and Lily love each other!

Camille held Lily without support for the first time. Lily actually spent a lot of time looking up at Camille and smiling. They are so cute!

Lily and the mirror

Lily has discovered joy in watching herself in the mirror underneath the jungle gym. It's cute! You can see Camille has put her doll Daisy next to Lily and covered them both up snugly. Camille is very concerned that no baby be cold.

Life these days

You can see my life in this picture. Camille is really particular about details. She had to have two blankets in place, her car hat on her head and her baby Daisy under the covers while we read a book with Lily.

Camille was excited to put bows in my hair.

We put Lily in Camille's princess chair, and Lily really enjoyed it. Camille even read her a book. You can see Camille put her baby Daisy in the chair with Lily. The baby doll is often next to Lily or in Lily's place in her bed, swing, etc.

Lily loves to smile and coo. She is also enjoying lying underneath her jungle gym, and she is starting to realize that she can hit toys with her clenched fist.

Camille loves to dress up and pretend. Note Camille's fashion sense--Sombrero with green and yellow Baylor bead necklaces and purple Dora slippers.

Camille likes to talk on the phone. Here Camille is talking with papa on Matt's cell phone. One day I let her answer our home phone because I was feeding Lily and I knew it was Matt calling. I tried to tell her that this was a one-time activity for her, but Camille thought it was so fun that for a week afterward she yelled out that she would answer the phone every time it rang. I think I've finally convinced her that she's too young to answer the phone, and I won't make the mistake again for a while.--Stephanie

Camille's the Mommy

Camille tells me all the time that "Camille's the Mommy." We've had conversations lately about who is the real mom and who is the doll's mom. Camille told me last night, "I'm the mom so you have to do what I say." Um, no. Camille is acting very maternal lately. She believes that her dolls have very important feelings and needs, just like Lily. As a stalling technique she will say that her doll is hungry and needs a bottle before she goes to bed. I tell her that the doll will have to wait until breakfast just like her. Last night Camille wrapped her doll in her beloved Bear Blankie and put in the doll to bed on her shelf for the night so that the doll wouldn't get cold. You can see her sitting with the doll this morning watching TV. Tonight she had a temper tantrum that partly had to do with concern that her doll was cold and I wouldn't let her get it a blanket (when she was supposed to be taking a bath). Camille wrapped her doll snugly for the stroller walk with Nana last weekend.

A few days ago Aunt Kristine came over to give Lily a bottle. Lily is good about the bottle, and I want her to continue. Lily and Kristine were having a cooing conversation when I took this picture. Lily smiles from ear to ear and works hard at her cooing noises.

Camille's quote of the day

At the dinner table tonight I asked Camille if a certain classmate got in trouble today at school. She said "yes" and explained what the child did. I asked Camille if she herself gets in trouble at school. She replied, "No. I get in trouble here."--Stephanie

Lily slept through the night!

Lily slept through the night for the first time last night. She went to bed about 10:30pm and didn't get up until 5:55am! I hope tonight is as good. Unfortunately she was so hungry and greedy when she drank her breakfast that she over-ate and projectile vomited it all over me, herself and my chair.

Camille was asking for "The Rest of the Cats" this morning and it took me a little while to figure out that she was stating the title of the movie The "Aristocats," which she apparently misunderstood.--Stephanie

Lily's dedication

We had Lily's baby dedication at church this Sunday. She was the only girl with about 10 other boys in the service. You can see that she slept through it. She got the biggest "ahhhh" from the crowd. I certainly think she was the cutest one!--Stephanie

Family photos

Here are some family photos we took this weekend at home before Lily's baby dedication at church.--Stephanie

Foo Foo bunny

Here is a family pic from Christmas at the Reitmeiers' home. The next picture is Lily with her new bunny. He sings and carries on. He's very amusing. Lily watches him. Camille loves him! Camille named him "Little Bunny Foo Foo." We call him Foo Foo for short.--Stephanie

More Christmas pictures

The living room was full of presents when all was divided up to open. You can see that Camille and Lily were swimming in presents. When Camille finished opening her own, she went around to help everyone else open things.
Camille had a blast on Christmas day playing upstairs at Matts aunt and uncle Reitmeier's house. The cousins were playing with the Wii and Camille was cheering them on. She was much smaller than the others and would stand between them and the big TV, jumping up and down in excitement. She followed Toby (10 years old I think) around like a puppy. She also loved playing with Uncle Gary, as you can see in the second picture of them on the floor.

Here Camille is showing Papa the picture frame she made for him.--Stephanie

More pictures

Here is Lily with her new soft bear--very floppy like Camille's Sterling Bear. The bear is still unnamed. When Lily was swinging Camille said Lily wanted her bear. After Lily fell asleep Camille wanted Lily and the bear to be covered.

(Don't forget that you can double click on the pictures to enlarge them if you want a closer look.)

Camille is modeling her dress-up dress as Bell from Beauty and the Beast. She felt very pretty and twirled around, but most activites are short-lived these days. She is very interested in the Disney movies and she got a bunch of the classics for Christmas. She would watch TV all day if you'd let her.--Stephanie
