I left Lily on the changing table for a minute to wash my hands. I came back to find Lily had covered her head with a burp cloth and was cooing happily and loudly underneath. When I took it off she seemed surprised and happy to see me.
The other big news for today is that Lily rolled over from her tummy to her back for the first time. I saw that she was about to do it and yelled for Matt to come quickly to wittness it. Unfortunately in typical fashion Camille would not move quickly and would not move out of his way--so he missed it by just a second.
I guess I can't leave Lily on the changing table anymore.

Lily's packin'
Yes, all my photos today seem to have a rotation problem. Well, yesterday evening after arriving home from Waco I needed to get a few things done around the house before going to pick up my parents from the airport. (My parents finally arrived after being stuck in San Francisco an extra day waiting in line after airport line, following Dallas's Saturday wind and dust storms.) Lily likes to see what's going on. She wasn't content lying on the floor, but she was happy a clam from the vantage point of the front-pack.
Boppy and Camille at the piano
For some reason the second picture didn't rotate. I'm only mastering one part of this blog posting at a time. So, try not to get a crick in you neck:)
Camille's great grandfather Colvin (who is called Boppy by the grandchildren) is a retired Baylor professor in the music department (and has many other credits to his name which I won't list here). Boppy and GG have a lovely grand piano in their home which is a Camille magnet. This trip Boppy sat down to show her about the piano. I don't know whose face was brighter, Boppy's or Camille's. Both really enjoyed the experience.

GG's birthday party
On Sunday we went to Waco for GG's birthday party (Camille and Lily's great grandmother). There was a lovely luncheon where Camille and Lily both had a wonderful time. Lily cooed and smiled at all the ladies who took turns holding her. In fact when GG was making a little speech thanking everyone for coming, Lily tried to compete with her own talking. Lily loves to talk when other people are talking. You know...so does Camille, come to think of it. I guess it must be a family trait--from Matt's side of course:)Camille ate her whole meal when we were still eating our salads and then was very well-behaved, playing off in a corner with the goodies Nana and Papa brought. Later on Matt's cousin Gillian came over and was a sweet playmate, letting Camille boss her around in the games that Camille made up. Camille gave them both a good workout, as one of her games was stand up and then drop to the floor (on Camille's count of course).

Bathtub adventures
Camille insisted on sitting next to Lily in the booth at Arbys the other day. I actually got to sit next to my husband in the booth. That's the first time in a while.
On Sunday I was giving Lily a bath while Camille watched. Camille agreed to be very careful if I let her join Lily in the bath. The only complaint was there wasn't enough water to keep Camille warm. They both seemed to have a good time, and I only had to clean up the bathroom once.
This picture was taken with a flash in the dark when Camille was sleeping. I was laughing because Camille apparently arranged her blanket to be a head scarf before going to sleep. Matt removed the blanket after taking the picture so she could cool down, but in the morning she proudly told me that she'd made a head scarf in the night.

Cat vs hamster round one
Camille is hamster-sitting this week. After a traumatizing ride to our house in the car, Jasmine the hamster took to hiding for a short while. When I put out her fresh food last evening, she had apparently recovered completely. If you double click on this photo to enlarge it you can see Jasmine eating away, oblivious to her worst nightmare stalking just outside the safety of the cage. The cage will stay closed this week and Kady cat will continue her exclusive diet of dry catfood. (I have to say that I'm very proud of myself for figuring out how to get this photo off of the camera and onto the blog with out the help of sleeping Matt. I know I should know how to do it by now. It's not the getting the photo off the memory card that's hard; it's Matt's not-so-intuitive photo organizational system on his computer that I don't want to mess up.)

Louder!
Camille continues to do a funny thing. When she is watching Dora the Explorer on TV the character asks the viewer a question and then wants the viewer to repeat the answer. Dora says "say it louder!" and Camille yells "louder!" It's too funny!
Little cuties
When I read to Camille at night I bring Lily in to Camille's bed unless Matt is home to watch Lily. Camille replaces Lily's pacifier as needed to make her be quiet so Camille can hear the story.
Lily gets really excited watching the mobile over her crib. She still doesn't really like tummy time, and she'll rare her head up and then yell out in frustration. She seems to be saying, "You're a slow learner, Mom. I tell you every day that I don't like this!" Propping her up on the boppy pillow resulted in a big mood improvement.
